Entering the Classroom:

- Wait outside the classroom quietly until I have dismissed the first class.
- Upon entering the classroom put the previous night’s homework into the homework tray.
- Go straight to your assigned seat and organize your materials for the day.
- Complete bell work assignment.
- After bell work is complete right the daily Objective in your notebook.
- Wait quietly until everyone is completed and the teacher has begun class.

Getting your attention:

The class is going to be set up so that you will have partner and group work and will be discussing information amongst you.  When this is going on there will be times when I need to get your attention to answer a question that the entire class needs to hear, make an announcement, or a number of other reasons.  I will:

- Go to the front of the classroom.
- Raise my hand.
- Once everyone is quiet I will make an announcement.

Finishing work early:

- If you finish work early you are to:
- Begin the night’s homework.
- Read approved material quietly at your desk.
- Reflect on the day’s lesson.

Ending the class:

- I dismiss the class, not the bell.
- When I dismiss the class, push your chairs under the desk and ensure that you have picked up all of your garbage and
deposit it in the trash can or recycling bin.

Group discussion:

We are going to try to have an interactive class and discuss topics of interest amongst ourselves and the class.  For this to     run smoothly and to be enlightening for all we must:

- Not interrupt whoever is speaking.
- Raise your hand wait to be acknowledged – everyone will get a chance to speak.
- Participate – that is how you will be graded for the discussion.
